Internship - Event Assistant for the Atlantic Dialogues Conference

OCP Policy Center is hiring highly motivated and successful individuals for its Internship program. Our event assistant interns will be hired to assist in the organization of the 6th edition of the Atlantic Dialogues conference. You will acquire significant experience in major conferences’ management, and general office duties in a young and dynamic environment.

The Atlantic Dialogues, organized by OCP Policy Center, brings together around 350 high-level public- and private-sector leaders from around the Atlantic Basin for three days of open, informal discussion on cross-regional issues ranging from security to economics, migration to energy. Participants from North and South America, Africa, Europe, and Asia include senior officials, business leaders, opinion shapers and the media.

Get first-hand experience of high-level political event organization on a strategic, analytical and operational level. AD interns will help with a variety of tasks during the 4 months preceding the conference, including but not limited to the management of guest relations, production, transportation assistance, and communication and media. AD interns will also have the opportunity to join the entire organizations team. 

Internships are at minimum three months and at maximum six months, with a preference for six months period. Contracts may not be extended beyond the internship assignment. Interns may benefit from a stipend, however, they are responsible for their own living expenses.

Scope of work

- Assist in the organization and set up of conference venue, catering, accommodation and transport;
- Assist in the invitations and logistical follow up
- Provide operational, logistical and administrative support for the conference attendees
- Update database for venue contacts
- Conducting research on different topics related to the Think Tank’s areas of interest

Qualifications and Requirements

- Students pursuing a Bachelors or Master’s degree in event management fields (Management, Political Sciences, Marketing and Communications, Tourism etc.)    
- Experience in event management
- Strong interest in current policy issues 
- Strong attention-to-detail 
- Fluency in French and English 
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Highly motivated and ability to work independently and to function well in a team setting
- Well organized with multi-tasking skills 
- Good communication, writing and analytical skills
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment
- Must be organized, committed, and responsible

Digital Communication

OCP Policy Center is seeking for a highly motivated intern who will have a strong knowledge and understanding of the digital media landscape, including various social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube. Expert-level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision making ability and attention to detail are critical for this position. The internship is for 3 to 6 months.

Scope of Work

- Establish a table detailing OCP Policy Center website’s restructuring/updating needs and propose ways of improving the website;

- Provide proofreading and copy editing support as needed;

Draft and edit copy for social media content calendar;

- Schedule social media posts and ensure quality;

- Update social media pages as needed;

- Generate ideas for reaching greater audience / Help develop strategies for new ways to engage and new social network profiles to reach our target audience;

- Assist in the daily routines within the digital field.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Obtain/Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education;

- Passion for Social Media and emerging technology;

- Exceptional oral and written communication skills;

- Self-starter with an analytical mindset and great problem-solving ability;

- Superb attention to detail and excellent organizational skills;

- Skills in html, InDesign and Photoshop preferred although not required;

- Ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient is also required.

Internship Graphic Designer

OCP Policy Center is seeking for a highly motivated intern who will have a strong knowledge and understanding of the creation of designs having high visual impacts. The candidate will have to assist OCP Policy Center’s Graphic Designer in developing designs and graphics for different printing materials, for the web site and social media tools. The internship is for 3 to 6 months.

Scope of work:

- To decline the think tank’s visual identity on various communication medias.

- To brainstorm the objectives of the designs with the team and to be able to interpret the needs to develop suitable concepts.

- To develop design briefs by gathering information and data through research.

- To create designs of institutional documents such as reports, guides, studies…,

- To propose concepts taking into account the aesthetic related to the size and the type of the document.

- To develop interactive design.

- To develop events’ web banners.

- To work on layouts ready for print or production.

- To work with printers, programmers, developers or other technicians to complete the final product.

- To work within the OCP Policy Center’s office when needed.

- To perform any other tasks that may be assigned by the team.

Requirements:

- Expert knowledge of Adobe Indesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Première, Corel video studio, Final cut pro.

- Well-developed creative flair and rigorous attention to details.

- Well-developed communication skills and ability to focus on the visual/graphic needs.

- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, and to understand and respond to the team members’ needs, priorities and deadlines.

- Problem-solving ability.  

- Required languages: French, Arabic and English.
